''GUARDIAN OF DIONYSUS"
'Guardian of Dionysus' 2023 (Greek collection)
Acrylic, gouache and 24ct gold leaf painting by Sarah T of Till Death Us Do Art.
Guardian of Dionysus exudes power and mythology, bringing to life the essence of the Greek god of wine, revelry, and transformation. The central figure a regal leopard adorned with a striking red jewel symbolises both strength and protection, embodying the untamed spirit of Dionysus himself. The leopard’s fierce stance and open mouth suggest watchfulness, guarding the divine chaos and indulgence associated with the god.
Surrounding the leopard, lush flowers and deep hues create a contrast between wild intensity and delicate beauty, reinforcing the dual nature of Dionysian myth where ecstasy meets wisdom. The tipped-over chalice of wine, with grapes spilling out, is a direct nod to the indulgence and ritual Dionysus represents, evoking themes of celebration, excess, and transformation. The use of gold leaf adds an air of opulence and mystique, drawing the viewer into the scene and elevating its symbolic richness. Guardian of Dionysus is a compelling blend of myth and artistry, encapsulating the wild yet sacred nature of the god’s presence.
''HERA'S WATCHER''
'Hera's Watcher' 2023 (Greek collection)
Acrylic, gouache and gold leaf painting by Sarah T of Till Death Us Do Art.
Hera’s Watcher is a mesmerising blend of mythology and symbolism, capturing the essence of Hera, the Greek goddess of marriage and queenship. The regal peacock, a sacred symbol of Hera, stands at the heart of the composition, its iridescent blues and greens exuding grandeur and divine beauty. The intricate gold leaf accents add a celestial glow, enhancing the sense of power and mystique surrounding the deity’s presence.
The lotus leaf introduces a layer of spiritual awakening and purity, reflecting Hera’s wisdom and her connection to renewal. Meanwhile, the egg nestled among the flowers is a striking addition, associated with fertility, creation, and the promise of new beginnings, representing Hera’s protective nature and the cycle of life. The deep black background further intensifies the rich hues of the flowers, inviting contemplation and admiration.
The vibrant roses, delicately surrounding the peacock, symbolises love, passion, and sacrifice, reinforcing Hera’s complex and commanding role in mythology. Altogether, this painting encapsulates divinity, transformation, and elegance, making it a fitting tribute to Hera’s celestial watchfulness.
''APOLLO'S SOUL''
'Apollo's Soul' 2023 (Greek collection)
Acrylic, gouache and gold leaf painting by Sarah T of Till Death Us Do Art.
In Greek mythology, the swan is deeply connected to the god Apollo, symbolising grace, inspiration, and transformation. Swans were believed to sing beautifully just before they passed, leading to the idea of the "swan song," a final burst of artistic brilliance fitting for a god of music and poetry. Apollo was said to have sacred swans that pulled his chariot across the sky, reinforcing their connection to divinity and enlightenment.
Their association with water and flight also embodies duality, the ability to navigate both the physical and spiritual realms. In my painting Apollo’s Soul, the swan’s poised elegance signifies Apollo’s wisdom and serenity, while its wing's hint at ascension, creativity, and the boundless nature of artistic expression. The roses around the swan add further depth, representing beauty, passion, or even sacrifice echoing Apollo’s sometimes tragic yet profound role in myth and artistry. The swan becomes more than just an image; it’s a vessel for emotion and meaning.

''TIGER''

''Tiger" 2023 (Japanese collection)
Acrylic, gouache and 24ct gold leaf painting by Sarah T of Till Death Us Do Art.
Tiger is a stunning exploration of contrasts, blending the fierce energy of the tiger with the delicate elegance of monarch butterflies and florals. The tiger, poised in a moment of intensity with its mouth open, exudes power and vitality, commanding attention at the heart of the composition. Surrounding it, the soft petals of roses and other vibrant flowers introduce a sense of harmony, creating a compelling juxtaposition between strength and fragility.
The presence of monarch butterflies adds a layer of symbolism, transformation, endurance, and the fleeting beauty of nature. Their graceful movements amidst the florals and golden elements suggest a balance between resilience and ephemerality. The addition of gold leaf elevates the painting further, enhancing its opulence and depth, drawing the eye to intricate details that shimmer with energy. Together, these elements weave a narrative of strength, grace, and transformation, making Tiger a mesmerising tribute to the dynamic relationship between power and beauty.
''TSURU''

'Tsuru" 2023 (Japanese collection)
Acrylic, gouache and 24ct gold leaf painting by Sarah T of Till Death Us Do Art.
Tsuru the Red Crested Crane is a breathtaking tribute to Japanese symbolism, weaving together elements of grace, longevity, and natural beauty. The majestic, red-rested crane stands elegantly, its wings partially spread, embodying wisdom and good fortune. Above, two golden cranes soar against a deep-toned sky, adding a celestial quality to the piece and reinforcing themes of prosperity and harmony.
Mount Fuji, standing tall in the background with its snow-capped peaks, provides a grounding presence, symbolising endurance, and spiritual strength. The red sun hovering above it evokes traditional Japanese imagery, adding warmth and balance to the composition. In the foreground, delicate orchid flowers bloom with soft white petals and rich purple centres, representing beauty, refinement, and resilience.
The gold leaf details bring an opulent glow to the painting, highlighting the movement and elegance of the cranes while elevating the depth of the scene. Tsuru the Red Crested Crane is a captivating fusion of cultural symbolism and artistic mastery, inviting contemplation and admiration.
''FORSAKEN''

''Forsaken'' 2025
Acrylic 24ct gold leaf painting by Sarah T of Till Death Us Do Art.
"Magpie and the Crucifix" is a striking exploration of materialism, spirituality, and sacrifice. A magpie clutches gold rosary beads, symbolizing the tension between greed and faith. The crucifix, illuminated atop a mountain, contrasts with the dark background, evoking themes of transcendence and redemption.
The red splashes of paint introduce a sense of violence and sacrifice, alluding to martyrdom, sin, or the price of devotion. The dramatic chiaroscuro effect enhances the painting’s depth, echoing classical techniques and reinforcing the contrast between light and shadow. Through rich symbolism, I, the artist invites reflection: Is the magpie a thief of faith or a seeker of truth? Does the red hint at past transgressions or a path to redemption? This evocative piece challenges our perception of faith, materialism, and sacrifice.
''MEXICAN SKULL - Dia De Los Muertos''

''Mexican Skull'' 2020
Acrylic painting by Sarah T of Till Death Us Do Art.
In Mexican Skull, I explore the vibrant collision of life, death, and celebration deeply rooted in Mexican tradition. Inspired by the rich symbolism of Día de Los Muertos, this painting captures the ornate beauty of a sugar skull, a motif that transforms mortality into a canvas for colour, memory, and joy. Through bold hues and intricate details, I invite viewers to reflect on the cyclical nature of existence, where death is not an end but a bridge to remembrance and cultural legacy. The composition channels both reverence and festivity, honouring ancestors while celebrating identity and personal expression. Each brushstroke is a tribute to resilience, heritage, and the enduring spark of life that colourfully defies the dark.
''MI CABALLO''

''Mi Caballo'' 2020
Acrylic painting by Sarah T of Till Death Us Do Art.
In Mi Caballo, I merge the powerful elegance of the horse with the intricate symbolism of the Mexican sugar skull, celebrating both vitality and remembrance. The horse becomes a canvas of culture, its form painted with vivid, ceremonial patterns that speak to the traditions of Día de Los Muertos. Deep black eyes anchor the piece, while swirling motifs, hearts, and bursts of colour bring a sense of movement and reverence. Red flowers bloom around the figure like echoes of life, love, and heritage, while gems sparkle across the composition, suggesting both precious memory and timeless spirit. The black background creates a dramatic contrast, allowing the vibrancy of the painting to shine with intensity and emotion. This piece is an homage not only to Mexican culture but also to the enduring beauty found at the intersection of strength and soul.

Limited Edition Print
From the shadowed quiet of decay emerges this fine art print, taken from my original watercolour painting. A skull, softly washed in monochrome tones, rests amid wisps of withered flora, a memento mori reimagined through a lens of beauty and fragility.
Fragments of imitation gold leaf catch the light like forgotten treasure, lending an ephemeral glow to the piece. Each print is individually hand-finished with the artist’s wax seal. A deep black impression of the initials “ST”, marking every edition with ritual like care and permanence 🖤
